The premiere of the #WHY career fair on the last weekend of October at the Lausitz Centre offered a deep insight into the variety of job opportunities in the city and throughout Lusatia. Belinda Grellmann from the organising marketing association Familienregion Hoyerswerda emphasised the development of job prospects in recent years: “It’s no longer just about having a well-paid job. For many of the younger generation, a good work-life balance, the harmonious interplay of work, leisure and time for family and friends, is at least as important.” And the #WHY career fair reflected precisely these values.
The crowds were noticeable right from the start. The stands were filled with interested visitors who were eager to talk and exchange information. Flyers, job offers and business cards were just as popular as the small gifts distributed by the exhibitors – from pens and lighters to calendars and bags.
The #WHY! stand with listening lounge and the stands of the marketing association and the Lusatian Lakeland Tourism Association were also well attended.
