After the last meeting of the Municipal Development Advisory Board in September 2023, the “Green Hem” concept was officially handed over. Mayor Torsten Ruban-Zeh officially received the document as part of a tree planting event on 17 October 2023. Now that the final documentation has been approved by the city council, the vision of the cycling/hiking trail surrounding Hoyerswerda and its numerous accompanying adventure sites is entering the next phase.
The implementation of this concept is close to the hearts of all advisory board members. In order to drive it forward, a large number of the former advisory board members agreed to continue their work in a so-called Municipal Implementation Advisory Board (MIAB). The kick-off took place on Saturday, 13.01.2024 in the community centre at Braugasse 1 with almost 20 advisory board members. Agreements were reached on further cooperation and responsibilities for the prioritised measures for 2024. The MIAB also discussed the future organisational form of the “Grüner Saum”, the logo and the signage.
The Municipal Implementation Advisory Board is funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality as part of the “Citizen Participation” programme for the period from 1 February 2024 to 31 December 2026.
