The mobility of tomorrow

The Free University of Berlin, the Technical University of Berlin and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg are jointly researching the topic of sustainable mobility in the DiTriMo project. By combining two modelling programmes, a “digital twin” of Berlin on the one hand and Lusatia on the other is being created, with which traffic flows and mobility decisions can be modelled and digitally modified. The so-called “Digital Drilling” expands the Digital Twin concept to include interactive, model-based discussions in the “Decision Theatre” format, which is carried out together with interested residents. The aim is to improve and further qualify the Digital Twin through the cooperation of the residents in order to enable more realistic and relevant modelling.
