What’s behind it?

In recent years, significant investments have already been made in energy efficiency measures and in making the entire facility more attractive to meet the growing expectations and requirements. From April 3, 2023, Lausitzbad will undergo further qualification, i.e., a refurbishment, as part of the structural transformation. Qualification refers to the restructuring and logical expansion of the entire facility.

The qualification of the Lausitzbad includes,

• The connection of the separate entrances (for the swimming pool and sauna) into a shared entrance area, with still separate changing areas,
• The expansion of the pool capacity with an additional 25m swimming pool and a baby swimming pool,
• The improvement of accessibility throughout the facility,
• The extension of staff areas to improve working conditions for the team,
• A comprehensive overhaul of the outdoor areas to create year-round offerings.

For the qualification, Lausitzbad will close on April 3, 2023, for approximately 1.5 years, except for the 25m swimming pool. The total duration of the project is 2 years.
