What’s behind it?

In recent years, a lot has already been invested into energy efficiency measures and making the entire facility more attractive to meet the growing expectations and requirements. From April 3, 2023, the Lausitzbad will now be further qualified, i.e. rebuilt, in the course of the structural change. Qualification means the structuring and logical expansion of the entire facility.

The qualification of the Lausitzbad includes,

• the connection of the separate entrances (bath and sauna cash desk) to a common entrance area, with further separate changing areas
• the extension of the pool capacity by an additional 25m sports pool and a baby pool
• the improvement of accessibility throughout the facility
• the extension of the staff rooms to improve the working conditions for the team
• a fundamental overhaul of the outdoor areas, to create year-round facilities

With the exception of the 25m sports pool, the Lausitzbad will close on April 3, 2023, for about 1.5 years for the qualification. The total duration of the project is 2 years.

The 25m sports pool will remain open for swimming lessons, prevention sports, school swimming, club sports and also for sports swimmers. If there are no major postponements, the Sauna Village will reopen on September 15, 2023.
