Qualification Lausitzhalle

A project of the municipal enterprises Hoyerswerda (Städtische Wirtschaftsbetriebe Hoyerswerda GmbH)

The cultural beacon project

What is behind it?

Originally opened as the “House of Miners – and Energy Workers” in 1984, the Lausitzhalle is getting a bit long in the tooth. The colossal building boasts a striking high stage tower and houses the Great Hall – known for its excellent acoustics – and other forum halls for events. Among other things, they are ideal for use as a conference venue.

A thorough renovation is essential to ensure the efficient continued operation of this venue which is protected as a historic monument. The facades are to be insulated, the flat roof completely renewed, and the heating and ventilation system built to the latest standards.

This will ensure that the Lausitzhalle retains its appeal as a cultural beacon of the region; both for Hoyerswerda and the entire surrounding area. Old and young should feel addressed when called to raise the curtain.
