Health Region Lusatia

A project of the Lusatian Lakeland Clinic company (Lausitzer Seenland Klinikum GmbH)

Modern and innovative medical technology

What’s behind it?

The Lusatian Lakeland Hospital, one of the largest employers in the region, is committed to modern and innovative medical technology. On June 1, 2022, during the third meeting of the Regional Monitoring Committee, the project “Building the Lusatian Health Region – Innovative Medical Technology as a Driving Force” was confirmed as a so-called “successor project” for the first funding period until 2026 – another milestone for Hoyerswerda and the region.

Specifically, investments will be made into modern intraoperative imaging procedures in the OR (hybrid OR) and the installation of an OR robot (Da Vinci). This requires both reconstruction and integration of the technologies. The planned beginning of the project is drawing closer, targeted for mid-2023.

At a glance:

  • Medium-term development of a Virtual Smart Hospital in Hoyerswerda
  • First building block: Implementation of a navigated, digital fluoroscopy unit and a system for performing robot-assisted surgeries in a hybrid operating theater
  • Project content: Conversion measures of the required rooms in the existing building as well as technological medical equipment for the rooms

Contribution to structural change:

  • Creation of 18 jobs and 6 training positions (direct impact)
  • Securing 67.76 jobs and training positions (indirect impact)
  • Diversification through the establishment of a sustainable economic and value-adding structure in the field of healthcare
